Christy Prouty, Ph.D.

Christy Prouty is the president of Community and Practice a consulting firm proficient in community-engaged engineering. Christy enjoys collaborating with grassroots and institutional stakeholders to co-develop solutions and research related to coastal resilience, innovation adoption, nutrient management, policy objectives, infrastructure investment, and climate adaptation. Community and Practice uses engineering, communication, policy, and systems thinking expertise to bridge the gap between technical and everyday audiences to produce resources for policymakers, the business community, academics, government agencies, and the public. Dr. Prouty earned her graduate degrees in environmental engineering from the University of South Florida where she also participated in USF Master’s International Peace Corps Program (Uganda, 2010-2012). She earned her BS in environmental engineering from Louisiana State University.
